This week I took part in a photoshoot with a lovely lady named Taylor. As an aspiring model she is just starting out and I can certainly see lots more of her in the future. She is a very talented lady with all the qualities of a terrific model.
I was able to shoot with a lovely lady recently. She proved to be a very pleasant person to work with, professional and a natural talent despite her experience in modeling. She will no doubt have a great future ahead of her in the industry.
I took part in a meetup at the Black Rapids locks a couple of days ago and met a lot of interesting people, both photographers and models. The weather was perfect and the day absolutely fabulous with the models being terrific themselves. I managed to capture a number of nice shots. Here are but a few of them.
Had the opportunity to shoot with two lovely ladies on the weekend. With both some studio shots and some from outside we had a great time. Thanks to Sandra for setting up the shoot and our lovely models Gracie and Danae.
I recently attended a workshop on lighting where we worked on a number of techniques to bring out the pictures to their max. Commencing with a simple one light setup we began with the use of a beauty dish above the model and a reflector below. This provided us with catch-lights in our model’s eyes in two places (upper and lower eye). A sample is here with our Model Katlyn.

The Second setup was similar but we used two Soft Boxes in an horizontal layout. Here the catch-light appeared in two places again however the angle was horizontal this time.
Next we tried some shots with back-lighting. This was done with a strobe and a blue gel cover to give a blue colour to the image.
Here is a sample of an image created this way with our model Katlyn.

The sky today had no clouds…unfortunately when that is the case in winter time no clouds is usually accompanied by cold temperatures. Today was no different. The mercury plunged to a frosty -30º Celcius. Needless to say I stepped outside for only a moment to capture this shot of the blue sky.
