WBG Photography & Graphics – Home

I as well as photography like to create graphics using a number of programs. These include Xara Designer Pro X Design software by Xara,

Inkscape , Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and a number of others. Many times I will start with a photograph that I have taken and turn the picture into a Vector drawing. Sometimes I will take other photos that I like and create vectors from them. A good number of them can be found at WBG Photography & Graphics – Home.

Each of these programs come with different strengths and weaknesses. I switch back and forth from time to time. Both Xara Designer Pro and Inkscape are capable of rendering raster images(PNG, JPG, etc) they are in fact native vector programs saving in EPS, SVG etc, while Sketchbook Pro is solely a Raster image program.

Welcome to a New Year

The calendar has made the turn and we enter into 2015 with the snow falling and the wind blowing. Having passed a very nice Christmas with the family we now get ready to head back to work. However some shots were taken over the holidays. Below are some shots taken at a Christmas Fun Shoot.

Looking forward to the Road

Well after a number of years I finally broke down and bought a 2010 Honda VT1300CT Interstate motorcycle. It was very fortuitous that our old van finally gave up the ghost and when we were quoted a cost of $1700 for the third transmission for the 1994 beast Karin and I decided to that it was time for another vehicle and when the prices for gas started to rise again the decision to get the bike proved to be the better choice.

So what does this mean? Well it means that I will be getting to do some traveling this summer. Looking forward to the open road. The best part is that I also picked up an extra helmet for a passenger. Who will be the first passenger… well it is a toss up between one of my daughters or the wife. I think that if the daughter has her way it will be her. Either way I am looking forward to doing a little riding this summer.

Off to take more Pictures.

Well it seems that I do not post as often as I would like so here is the next entry. Yesterday Heather and I decided to go out to take some pictures at Kingston Mills. It was a beautiful day and again we decided that we would pick up where we left of and continue to take some pictures in the area. Today may be Gananoque or Wolfe Island. We’ll see. Right after I finish here I will go and discuss things with her to see what she wants to do. It seems that she has taken to the camera as a photographer as much as I have and she also appears to have a better eye than me for finding just the right subject.

Once we get back I will post some of our favourite shots online. See you later. TTFN.

Photography and shots

Time for me to update again. Well I have finally started to learn the intricacies and features of my camera. I am currently registered in a photography course and have started to take some pictures as part of the assignments. From time to time I will post a few of the ones that I like, well maybe even some that I don’t just to give some variety to the publishing.

Each of the photos is to outline the various aspects. The one of the Canon pictured here is to show the depth of field using the aperture settings on the camera. As part of the assignment, I will also need to take ones illustrating the various aspects of the shutter feature. Unfortunately I have not had the time to do this yet but it will be coming shortly.
